What are the entree options for Saturday?
We understand we were a bit concise with the reply card options. Below please find what each label corresponds to:
- Meat: Seared NY Strip steak, spoon bread, baby brussel sprouts, mushroom jus
- Fish: Seared bass, seasonal braised greens, butternut squash puree, chive oil
- Vegetarian: Ravioletti, Ricotta, squash puree, fried sage, brown-butter crumble
What’s the wedding hashtag?
#hashtagEgonandSara
No, its not #EgonandSara – that would be way too basic and imply that we are just like everyone else who has a wedding hashtag. By adding the extra “hashtag” that is written out, we are proving that we are a bit ironic and so unique and so unlike every other 30-something in this world. It does potentially call into question our creativity, but maybe we’re TRYING not to be creative? Marinate on THAT! 🙂
How do I get to the venue?
We will run buses from The Intercontinental Hotel Magnificent Mile for those who would like to use them (see the Logistics page for more information). Otherwise, the best way to get to the Art Institute of Chicago is by cab (or walking from your hotel). Tell them Art Institute on South Michigan. If you would like to drive to the Art Institute, you can use the parking lots on Grant Park South, Grant Park North, or East Monroe (see the Logistics page for more information).
Please enter the Art Institute at the 111 S. Michigan Ave entrance. We will exit at 230 S. Columbus Drive. (The Art Institute really cares about this one. There will be multiple weddings going on and GOD FORBID we mix our guests! In fact Egon and Sara have tons of experience accidentally showing up at the wrong wedding at the right address. Its super funny but only if it all works out okay for all involved.)
You can arrive at 5:45pm, but no earlier (sorry 😦 ), as the museum is being closed to the public and undergoing a security sweep before wedding guests are allowed to enter. The ceremony will start at 6:00pm.
What do I need to do to win Friday night trivia?
Great question. We really do anticipate it to be quite competitive, and full of questions about Eg / Sar, their childhood towns, current city, etc! You will likely be placed into teams with some friends and some strangers, which means you will get to band together with new people and make new friends through competition and a common purpose (one of Sara’s favorite things)! As a result, everyone will really win. But to have an advantage, try to get on a team with a Sara or Egon family member, they will probably inadvertently be at an advantage.
Will there be childcare provided?
Yes, indeed!!! We are working with The Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile to arrange for childcare on Saturday night. If you will be bringing children and will need childcare, please email mother of the bride Susan Bogart at SBOGART514@AOL.COM.
What should I wear?
For Friday, smart casual works. For Saturday, your best tux (or dark suit if you don’t have one) for guys, and a fancy dress (long or short) for ladies.
Will there be a murder mystery dinner?
No, unfortunately not. OR WILL THERE BE ONE?
How can I ask other questions?
Feel free to email Susan Bogart, the Mother of the Bride, at SBOGART514@AOL.COM.
